Troubleshooting
My TV isn’t showing up in the app
- Make sure your iPhone and Samsung TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check that your TV is powered on (not just in standby).
- Try entering your TV’s IP address manually — you can find it in your TV’s Settings → General → Network → Network Status.
I paired, but the remote buttons don’t work
- Try disconnecting and re-pairing from the app’s discovery screen.
- Confirm the TV accepted the pairing request — you should see an “Allow” prompt on the TV screen.
- Some TVs require you to allow the connection within a few seconds.
Wake-on-LAN isn’t turning on my TV
- WoL must be enabled in your TV settings (usually under Settings → General → Network → Expert Settings → Power On with Mobile).
- Your iPhone must be on the same network as the TV.
- Some routers block Wake-on-LAN packets — check your router settings if the TV doesn’t respond.
The app says “Disconnected” or “TV is offline”
- Verify the TV is on and reachable on your network.
- Try closing and reopening SamRemote.
- If you recently changed Wi-Fi networks, make sure both devices are on the same one.
Compatible TVs
SamRemote works with Samsung Smart TVs that support the Tizen platform and the Samsung SmartTV WebSocket API. This includes most Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 and newer.
