Plain-language summary

Information We Collect

Flatbed does not collect your document content or directly identifying profile data, and does not use advertising identifiers, precise location, or cross-app tracking.

Flatbed does collect limited, first-party, aggregate usage diagnostics — counts of events such as opening the app, viewing the paywall, and completing a purchase, together with the app version and platform — so we can understand whether core features and purchases are working. These diagnostics do not include your documents, scanned images, or OCR text, are not linked to your identity, and are not used to track you. We do not use advertising SDKs or services that track you across apps or websites.

Tracking

Flatbed does not use tracking technologies and does not track you across apps or websites.

Apple Search Ads Attribution

In App Store release builds, Flatbed uses Apple's Standard AdServices attribution through RevenueCat. Apple generates an attribution token that is valid for up to 24 hours; Flatbed sends that token to RevenueCat, and RevenueCat requests the attribution record from Apple. The returned data can include Apple Search Ads campaign, ad-group, keyword, placement, and conversion/attribution fields. The fields Apple returns depend on the available campaign data and attribution result. We use this advertising data together with anonymous purchase results to measure our Apple Search Ads campaign performance and inform our own marketing.

Standard AdServices attribution does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and does not require App Tracking Transparency permission. The attribution data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites. Flatbed does not display third-party ads.

How Your Data Is Processed

When you scan documents or run OCR (text recognition), the work is performed on-device using Apple-provided frameworks (VisionKit and Vision). Flatbed does not transmit your scans to any server for processing.

iCloud Sync

Flatbed keeps documents local by default. If you explicitly enable iCloud Sync in Flatbed, complete documents — including full-resolution page images, titles, folders, tags, and OCR text — sync across your devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is stored in your private iCloud database and is not accessible to us. You can disable Flatbed's iCloud access in your device's iCloud settings. OCR and document processing continue to run on-device whether or not sync is enabled.

Where Your Documents Are Stored

Scans and generated PDFs are stored locally on your device (and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled). If you choose to export, share, or save files to a third-party service (for example, Files, email, or another app), that destination is governed by the privacy policy of that service.

Third-Party Services

Flatbed does not integrate with third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. For Flatbed Pro purchases, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app identifier and purchase history/status so the app can verify, unlock, and restore your entitlement, provide aggregate purchase analytics, and measure Apple Ads campaign performance through Standard AdServices attribution. We do not send scans, OCR text, or document metadata to RevenueCat. RevenueCat data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you.

Children's Privacy

Flatbed does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
